When ever i download a toolbar, no matter if it's yahoo!, MSN, or google
toolbar, it runs ONLY the first time i open my browser window but as soon as
i close it and open it again, it disappears.

I tried looking for the toolbar in View/toolbars but it's not there!! it
just doesn't show up anywhere in the browser after the first time i open the
browser!!

i checked in control pannel/add or remove software and the toolbar seems to
be still installed and functional!

please please help me out!!

Hi,

You may have disabled third-party browser helper objects.

Try the following:

Open Internet Explorer.
Click on Tools, Internet Options.
Click on Advanced.
Check the box 'Enable third party browser extensions'.
Click on OK to save the settings.

Restart your computer.

That may serve to fix the problem. If it does not, please post to this thread,

Thanks,

Altrus

What browser are you using, and what version is it?

What Operating system are you running, and what version is it?

Thanks,

Altrus

Well, apparently, i'm using Inernet Explorer 6, and my operating system is
Win XP Pro...

by the way, i tried resetting all the security adjustments and everything
else that i thought was relavant in Internet options but it made no
difference...
again, thx for getting back to me

oh by the way, recently, the browser does not even redirect me when needed,
for instance, on the web page it says, "you will be redirected to here in 3
seconds" but actually nothing will happen after 3 seconds... the same thing
happened everytime a redirection was needed... Is this related to the toolbar
problem??

my IE6 is so screwed up... is there any hope?

Did you click "Reset" on the Tools | Options | Security tab for the Internet
zone? Have you installed XP SP2? If so, what's in the Manage Addons box?
