Internet Explorer 5.5 with SP2 or Explorer 6

Seeking to upgrade some offline PC's running Win2k with virus protection but
can't install Symantec antivirus withou first updating explorer. The PC's i
speak of are used in scienctific research and data collection not connected
to the internet. Since these computer are never online, keeping them updated
has been a problem. Can anyone help?
