internet disconnect

I'm using xphome and a dsl modem. For some reson my internet connection
is being dropped if I let my computer be idle for a short period. I have
to reboot comp. to get it back. ISP Mediacom says it's not their
problem. I do not lose my modem activity when this happens. Help

Can't think of anything in the OS that could cause this. Maybe a bad modem ,
dsl line or most likely the isp passing the buck which is very common. Get
the isp to fix the problem or tell them you won't pay for a service that
does not work. Jym

Something to check if you are using a USB modem.
In Device Manager under Universal Serial Bus Controllers right click on the
root hub you are using for your DSL modem and look at Power Management tab.
Do you have turn off is idle checked?
