I don't know if this is the correct newsgroup to post this
in because I don't know what the problem really is. But
it's like this: after approximately two-two and a half
hours with my computer and broadband on internet just
stops working. We have two more computers hooked to the
same router but this never happens to any of them,
furthermore when I used to have 33.6 modem on this same
computer the problem never occurred. I wondered if it
could be some error or something that could be corrected
because it's frankly quite annoying. When I reboot it
works fine again for the same length of time until it,
again, stops working.

I will be very greatful for any tip or hint as to how to
get rid of this problem.

IS this just from a browser or does it also occur using a Winsock app (such
as an FTP app like FlashFXP, BulletFTP, etc)?

If it's just the browser, do you now have an ADSL connection? I've seen this
before with ADSL due to the altered MTUs that PPPoE requires and how a
browser faulters on that.

This may or may not be the correct group, when your internet stops working
is nslookup still able to resolve names?
The next time it stops in a command prompt run nslookup and try to resolve
some names like www.microsoft.com. If that does not resolve exit nslookup
and try pinging your gateway and your router's gateway.

Good point. This way we can determine if it's a resolution issue or a
browser issue.

Internet probably continues to work just fine (or, at least, as well as it
always has). _Your access to_ Internet may experience problems, but that's
your computer experiencing problems, not Internet.

Your "stops working" problem description is useless for diagnosis, moreover.
If you want help, either provide a much better description or find a
newsgroup inhabited by clairvoyants who can reach through their Usenet feeds
with their vast mental powers to find you and your computer and observe what
the two of you are doing. (I recommend the former. It's more private.)
