Internet connectivity problem

Re-formated hard drive, installed fresh copy windows 2000 pro.
Connected cat5 cable from router and unable to connect to the
internet. Networking shows the LAN and it is enabled. Tried to connect
using IE and followed connection wizard setup like I have always done
and will not let me connect. Other computer works fine connected to
the router. What is my next step. Many thanks in advance...

I assume you have rebooted the router? Then reboot the PC to pick up the IP
address via DHCP.

Pay someone who knows how to install Windows and drivers.

Doubt that this is a hardware issue since it worked before you formatted.

Run "CMD" -> ipconfig to see what it's ip address is, OR try
accessing the router from that box or pinging the router.
Also note the Gateway IP from IPCONFIG, that it's same as
router.
