I have an ISP that says I have a Microsoft problem. Hope
someone has a solution.

I have three XP machines in my house. I connect to the
I.S.P. (SBC)through DSL or Dial In. I get the same
symptoms on all machines regardless of the connection.

1) I get Page Not Found (dsn error) regardless of the url.
2) Mail does not connect to the servers.

SBC says I have a browser problem or a virus because I can
ping an ip address but cannot ping a url.

Same symptoms on all three machines, one of which has not
been used for months. Same symptoms regardless of
connection.

The kicker, SBC did an upgrade to their system Wed morning
between 5-6am CDT. Everything worked fine before. I don't
think the issue is inside my house, but it is an SBC
problem. Anybody have any thoughts about resolution?

Can you ping the DNS server? I would also check the
TCP/IP settings for your network adapter (Control _Pannel
=> Network and Internet Connections => Network
Connections => right click on the Local Network
Connection icon and select Properties. Then highlight
the Internet Protocal (TCP/IP) entry and click the
properties button. The Obtain DNS server automaticly
button should be selected.)
