I have a Compaq laptop that will conect to the internet ok if i use the
wireless connection. but if i disable the wireless and try to get on using a
cable it will not connect. When i connect the cable the computer does tell me
that I'm connected ok , but I can't get anywhere. The secnd I go back to
wireless i'm fine. I know it sound like it may a configuration problem, but
can someone help, i can't seem to figure this one out. and oh by the why it
does the same thing at home or the office so I know it not the router and yes
i've tried different cables. Like i said the computer see's the connection, I
just can't get anywhere.
Any help would be appreciated

Run "ipconfig /all > ipresults.txt" from a command line and post the txt file
here on this site.

Thanks everyone, but i found the problem. The wireless connection was set up
to Optain an IP Addess Automatically. But when switching over to a cable in
was set to manually set an IP address. And of coarse it had the wrong
address. So I set it to Automatic and everythings works great
