internet connection sharing

I have 3 computers connected via ethernet cables to a switch/hub. They can
all see each others shared files. The main computer is connected to the
internet via ADSL broadband using a USB connected modem and I have set up ICS
on each computer. Each computer can see the internet connection (shown as
'Internet Gateway' on the other two computers' Network connections) and is
indicating it is connected.
However I cannot access the interent fro mthese two computers. The main
computer is connecting fine (hence this post!).
I've run Network Diagnostics on all machines, and it says Winsock has passed
all tests but the problem is with DNS (I think).
I've tried numerous suggestions as posted on here but am getting nowhere.
Has anybody a structured way of pinning down the problem?
Thanks for any replies.

I'd start by reviewing the connection between the 2 computers.

Then I'd look at "ipconfig /all" logs from each.

It appears I have found the culprit! I inadvertently connected to the
internet without first starting up ZoneAlarm Free on the host computer, which
I had previously disabled to carry out some clearing of old files etc. And
behold, I had both of the other two computers suddenly finding MS updates. I
confirmed this by restarting Zonealarm on the host, and internet connection
was blocked on the other two computers.
I cannot see any way of applying settings in ZA to allow me to use it AND
browse internet on the other two computers. Any thing I'm missing here or are
the settings only available in the paid version?
btw the file sharing is working fine on all 3 computers, with or without ZA
(I did put the IP addresses in the trusted zone previously).
Many thanks for your valued advice.
