i have two computers i'm trying to network together in my
home. one computer has cable internet and i'd like to
share the connection. but when i go to the advanced tab
under network connection properties, the option to share
the internet connection isn't there. i have a router
connected to the computer, would that take over ICS and
share the connection with the other computer?

thanks
wes

still have a problem tho, when i connect the second
computer to the router, my internet connection on the
first computer gets disabled. any ideas? btw thanks
nick.

With your router you don't need ICS. Any computer connected to your router
can connect to the net independent of what computer is turned on. That is if
it is set up correct.

Make sure that the cable modem is connected to the router's WAN port,
not to one of its LAN ports. Connect both computers to the router's
LAN ports.
