Internet connection problems

XPInstalling

I have just upgraded from XPHome to XPProf. Although the
installation program used the existing Internet
connection to get the required updates during the
upgrading process, later I can not access Internet. The
error messages are "711 there is a configuration problem
on this machine that prevents it from accessing internet"
or "you do not have access to this facility/service"
or "Remote access service is not working". When I try to
start the mentioned services it says "you do not have
access to this service". I have been going around in
circles. Could somebody help me please?
