I need help !!!
I can't get my network card to obtain an IP address from
the router. I have win XP home on this particular PC. The
other PC (notebook) has no problem obtaining IP address
using the same cable from the same router. I have
repaired the windows twice to no avail I don't know what
else can be done.
I can ping 127.0.0.1 with no errors.
Somebody please help !!!!

Thanks,
Rob

Have you configured the router to use DHCP server to automatically assign IP
addresses to connected machines? Have you set the default gateway of the
network card as the IP address of the router?

Yes I have done all that. Still not working. Seems like
the tcpip is not functioning as it should. I have
repaired windows installation twice. Reservice packed it
it still not renewing IP address. Even when I use modem
to connect to internet it doesn't work. Any ideas???
