Internet Connection Problem

I'll try to sumamrize this briefly: I was playing a game,
and when trying to exit the system abruptly restarted. I
didn't think much of it until trying to use Internet
Explorer; no pages will display. None of my internet
programs can find a connection either. I checked my LAN
connection, and it says it is enabled and shows data as
being received and sent. I know it's not the connection
itself, since other computers on my network are still
fine. The status lights on my network card illuminate as
normal. I've tried different network cable and
everything. Is there anything else it could be?

Any help is much appreciated, thank you.

Try a new network card. I had the same problem and it
worked for me

I had a similar problem; I had to bring up the properties
for my network connection, then bring up the properties
for my TCP/IP settings, then verify that it was set to
automatic IP addressing and automatic DNS addressing,
somehow they had changed to actual values. When I set
them back to automatic, everything worked fine.
