I have configured several modem connections to ISP: when I
dial the connection, it is stablished correctly and the
machine is registered in the ISP network. The problem is
that I cann't access the internet... all pings return
timeouts. I have checked that DNS configuration is OK.
Can anybody help me?

do check your proxy settings... it needs to be configured according to the isp... go to internet explorer... tools... internet options... then click on the connection tab... click on the specific connection then click on settings... call your isp tecnical support and accordingly input the proxy settings... Questions.
What OS?
Are you pinging by name or by IP
eg: ping www.google.com or ping 216.239.41.104

Possible solutions

Make sure all firewalls are turned off, see if it works, if it does fix your
FW

If your running Xp rebuild TCP/IP (caution make note of N/w setup sometimes
I have had IPs go missing)

Click on start -> run -> type "netsh int ip reset C:\reset.txt"
Next click on start ->run type "C:\reset.txt"
you should see a notepad window open with alot of reset added & deleteds
make sure you see <completed> right down the bottom.
reboot and try again.
