I have a high speed internet connection that I am sharing
with several client computers at my home that are on a
home network using Internet Connection Sharing.
Everything works fine until I enable the Internet
Connection Firewall. When I do that, none of other
client PCs that are attached to the network can connect
to the internet. The Host PC that is attached my cable
modem is still able to connect to the internet just
fine. Any ideas how to fix this?

Its working as it should. Look at sart > help > for Internet connection
firewall. ICF should, and is intended to, be used only on a computer
directly connected to the Internet.

You should be able to turn on the firewall for the internet connection (Whichever local area connection is your modem connection) but not on the connection going to your network. You cannot use firewalls within a lan enviroment.

======================================================
The XP Internet Connection Firewall is not meant to be used in a LAN.
It is only meant to be used on an individual computer for the Internet
connection.
Most third-party (non Microsoft) Firewall programs will work in a LAN
provided they are properly configured

you mean that for an ICS, one must switch on the ICF on the host internet connection when the host is connected to internet, and switch this ICF off when the client requests internet connection and switch on the client network connection ICF; and switch off the client network connection ICF when working on the home network
is that right

I have a home network with 2 desktops ( XP-ICS host and win 95) and one laptop (XP)
network works very fine
internet ICS works perfectly when ICF on ICS is not on
as soon as any Firewall (XP ICF or Panda) is on on the ICS, only the host can connect to internet; the 2 clients cannot
is this the way it must work
thank
