I have been trying to enable my Internet Connection
Firewall on my HP Pavilion 745n computer for some time,
but have been unable. I have Windows XP home. The
computer is not networked at this time.
The directions for this are very simple. From Network
Connection highlight the connection you what to change,
when I either click on "Change settings of this
connection," or right click, and choose Properties, it
does nothing. Nothing. No error messages, no disk
activity, nothing, neither is grayed out. I am signed on
as Administrator.
I have installed the latest dialer program
(5.1.2600.1055). I have the latest Windows Updates. I
have tried uninstalling the dialer program, and
reinstalling, closing all other programs, including Norton
AV. I have two other connections located in Network
Connections, and they both allow me to access the "Change
settings of this connection", and Properties.
I am hoping you can help with this puzzle.
Happy Holidays!
