after establishing a LAN internet connection and viewing
several web pages, I receive "can not find server". I must
then reboot(not restart) then all is good for a short
while until it happens again. There are several other
computers in this hardwired home network. They do not lose
their internet connection. They are running ME however. I
have hooked up my laptop to the XP's LAN cable and have no
connection problem(thou it also runs ME).
The HUB always shows a connection to the XP, even when
the XP says it does not have one. Ping tests of hub and
modem show no problems. When the xp is functioning pinging
2wire.com has never shown less than 1500.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance

My Xp connects to a 2WIRE/180W firewall, and has the same
problem of "can not find server", but only after a long time
idling with no web surfing. It must also be rebooted to enable
web surfing again. At this point my home "network" only has one
desktop. I'm doing some research, and will post my findings here.
Good luck!
