Internet connection/download taskbar?

Sorry to not know the proper name, but MS does not have a
page I can find anywhere that identifies what the parts
of IE 6 are.

Anyway, I have a situation in that the bottom bar - the
one that shows the internet connection and any download
processes - has disappeared.

The bottom bar with start and my icons is there, just not
the one that is above it when I sign on to the Internet
thru IE.

Any ideas?

Open Internet Explorer > View > enable "Status Bar"
