internet connection after sp2 installation

Hi,i recently reformatted my HD and installed sp2.but after restarting i cant
seem to connect to the internet.i know that the internet is fine and
connected as there is another computer on the network aswell as my xbox 360.i
hope someone can help me with this situation.im starting to lose my temper.

You formatted the drive. Did you then also install the drivers for the
motherboard and all the hardware, in particular the network adapters?

Go into Control Panel, Network Connections. Ensure that the network
adapters are there and functioning properly.

hi.after hours of trying diff stuff i gave up and reformatted.again!installed
relevent drivers and as soon it was complete i was able to use the
internet.after doing updates and doing a virus and adware check i installed
sp2.and now the same thing has happened,only this time as soon as i turn
computer on it signs me into messenger and tells me ive got unread
emails.then nothing.ive tried turning fire wall off and anti virus.
