Internet connect

I'm trying to get connect to the internet. I t connects,
then it checks for authenticity, then it prepairs to
disconnect. I get an error waiting for response time out,
which also states my network settings are wrong or my fire
wall is stopping a response from the service. My firewall
is turned off & my settings are the same as my other
computer. Any help??

Have you run a virus scan, using uptodate deffinitions.
Its not a good idea to turn off the Firewall.
