I have an office with 5 workstations and a win 2000
systems set up as a file server. Internet is through
broadband dsl. After the power went off yesterday, I now
have two systems that can not connect to the internet.
They are 1 XP PRO and 1 Win2K. Everyone else is connecting
ok and any new conection to the switch is connected. Any
ideas on what happened to the 2 workstations and how to
repair?

Why did the power go out? Was this a lightning strike? Can they ping the
other machines? Check the NICs on both machines to see if they are still
functional. Replace if necessary.

area power blockout for about 20 sec. They can reach the
server and run normal file programs. It just involves
internet connection. I have also run repair on the LAN
connection.
