When I try to open internet checkers (zone.com) which is one of the games already loaded in the Programs I get a message that says I can't connect to the game server. I just had this occur today and have not previously had a problem. What's the solution?

Hi Rod,

The servers may have been offline for NETSKY patching.
They're available now though. (I just played a game). :-)

Jimmy S. - Thanks for the reply, but I still can't connect to any of the games that are preceded by the word "internet." I am connected to the internet and I still get a message which says "unable to connect to the game server." Have I disabled the game server somehow?

Hi Rod,

Do you have a 3rd party firewall installed, or anything else
that could be blocking your connection? Are you on a LAN?

Jimmy - Thanks for the reply. I think the answer to both your questions is "no". I do have this "McAfee" personal firewall message that always pops up, but it says it's expired. There are 4 different users on my home computer, but it's been that way since we set it up, so I don't think that's the problem. The problem occurred after I got some kind of pop-up message and I answered "no" to it and it was something about exchanging information or something like that - maybe that created some type of firewall

Thanks.

Hi Rod,

Using Control Panel / Add - Remove Programs, uninstall the McAfee
firewall, which I suspect is the source of that popup message which
you clicked on and answered "no" to, and as a result is blocking the
games from connecting to the servers. Use XP's built in firewall:

How about that was already part of the firewall and you blocked a port
or a piece of software. I doubt you disabled the server. Try
uninstalling the expired firewall?
