is it possile to set restrictions on a computer on my home network so that I
can contro; access to the internet through my actiontec dsl router? I would
like to limit one computer while allowing access on the others. To be
optimal i would like to set this up to turn the kids computer off of the
internet at a predetermined time automatically.

Check the documentation for your router or look at it's settings as often
they do have the ability to have rules that allow internet access by
schedule where you need to enter the IP addresses of the computers. The
problem however is that depending on the expertise of your children they may
figure out that if they change the IP address of their computer it may
bypass the rule particularly if they use your IP when your computer is not
turned on. A user needs to be a local administrator [known to your or not]
or a member of the network configuration operators group to change the
computers IP address. Also be sure to change the default password on your
router and periodically check it as a user that has physical access to it
can do a hard reset that will change settings back to default levels.
Usually you can find the full user manual for router devices at the
manufacturer's website via a .pdf download if you do not have it
vailable. --- Steve
