Hello!

Is there any advantage or disadvantage to havng the same internal and
external domain name in W2K? For example, if my internal Active Directory
namespace was nbh.ca, could my external namespace be the same?

Thanks.

You can do it either way. Whether there are advantages or disadvantages to
one method over another depends on your needs.

In my opinion, if you have a simple home system with only "typical" needs
(i.e. web server, mail server, telnet and/or ftp server) you will like
having the same internal and external domain name for simplicity. That's how
I do it. Some will say it is more complex because you have to use what is
called a "split brain" DNS (separate internal and external DNS services).
However, I find it exceedingly easy to use this setup. After you create
about 4 or 6 external DNS entries your done. The internal ones are handled
automatically by Windows.
