I have an Asus A7V8x-x and my Lian Li case has two USB ports on the
front. The board has one set of connectors for an internal USB
device. So is there a splitter I can get so I can use both?

In the manual, I see a 2x5 USB header called USB56. That has two USB
circuits on it, each taking 4 pins. If the Lian Li uses loose wires
for the two front connectors, you should be able to connect the wires
to the 2x5 header. The "NC" pin on the 2x5 connector is a No Connect.

I now understand. Thanks.

PS- why bother puitting a No Connect there in the first place?

There is a pin missing from the header. With an Asus cable, the
missing pin is used as a key to prevent accidental 180 degree
rotation of the connector. The pin next to the missing pin is
necessary to provide a hint as to the correct orientation.
