Asus p4c800de luxe

Asus V9570LE V56.55 graphics

pentium 4 3.0ghz
two sticks 1 g crucial ram
four ide hdds not raid
cdrw
using onboard sound, lan, and firewire
usb:- speakers, card reader,scanner, webcam.
memtest runs clean.

I have been getting a random short single beep from my internel speaker.
It might be twice in a 6 hour session.

I have been having no problems, boots ok, shuts down ok, not running SETI
or anything like that.
cpu temp reading 59-60
mb reading 43
Is it an early warning, any ideas anyone?
regards Peter

are you running any games or videos...usually a high frequency beep doing
running is a sign of CPU over-heating.

Well, you might have a failing CPU fan...might open the side case if you have
one...and leave it off and watch things....if you feel confident that nothing is
wrong...you can turn off them systems beeps...usually the post bio's beeps are
the ones to be aware of.
