Dear All,

Sorry if this sounds simple and I am being painfully
stupid. How can I set up a system that will allow me to
run my own mail server/system for sending messages
between users of my home network? I don't want to have to
rely on online services.

You will need a mail server - you can search on google.com for cheap or free
servers.

Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. Due to
the (insert latest virus name here) virus, all mail sent to my personal
account will be deleted without reading.

After searching google.groups.com and finding no answer, Richard Jarvis
asked:

You need a mail server. Which version of outlook do you use? The simplest
mail server is MSMail (www.outlook-tips.net/msmail.htm) but it won't work
with outlook2000/98 in Internet mode. If you want to share calendar and
contacts, an imap server and the insightconnector is better.

Outlook XP on all machines

Would like to send e-mail, attachments via e-mail, share
calendar, individual contacts.

Thanks for the reply
