Internal IP assignment

Is there a way in Windows 2000 Server for me to assign a network share an internal IP address. I want to be able to use a browser to load the contents of a share, and was wondering if assigning an IP to the share would allow me to browse it.

You can setup the ftp server service to allow browsing. TMK, you can't
browse NT shares with a browser as the browser is http based and looking for
something at port 80 by default, not a LanMan share.

Well, you could make the share directory a virtual directory in IIS and
enable directory browsing. I've done it a couple times when I wanted
someone to see the contents of the directory from the Internet.
