I have loaded office onto my home machine and when I try
to import my contacts list I get an error 2359 the
installer shutdown with a failed to install message I have
searched the knowledge base (Microsoft ) and have found
that the problem fix requires me to install the files onto
the local pc when I try to do this the installer goes
through the motins and comes back as failed. I have tried
to uninstall the whole of office and when it is
uninstalled I reboot and try to re-install and still get
this error 2359 ????? does anyone know of how to fix this
problem.

Try posting back with some useful information, such as what you are
trying to do, the version of Office/Outlook you are trying to do this
with, what exact error message you are getting, what KB article you
tried that did not work, and generally try to provide us with some
coherent information so someone can help you.

Right now, I would be surprised if anyone could figure out what you
are trying to do.

Hello Vaughan/Milly,

what i found was:

internal error 2359:
http://compare.mevatec.com/issuego.asp?ID=339&ID2=19

2:9 The error you are receiving on your Windows 2000 system (internal error
2359) is briefly described by Microsoft as "Unable to create the target
file - file may be in use."

If you search in the MSKB you will find different programs (Money, Access97,
Windows for Workgroups 3.11) with this problem. It seems that it is not an
Outlook problem, it is an Office Install problem. So i think this is not the
correct newsgroup for this error.

Maybe an Office Newsgroup:
