Our company has the domain name of sobellrhodes.co.uk We
also have a website for it. It is also the name of our
internal domain since we upgraded to 2000 server. Now we
cannot access www.sobellrhodes.co.uk from in the company
as there seems to be a conflict and it cannot resolve to
the website as it thinks it is in the local network. Does
anyone know how to resolve this issue so we can get access
to www.sobellrhodes.co.uk

How is your DNS setup arranged?

Common is to have an external DNS and an internal SEPARATE DNS
for the AD -- if this is the case you must manually add the external names,
e.g., www, to your internal DNS server.

That's it.

You can also find the IP address of the web page and use
that instead of the name. This is a common solution to
small networks that use IIS to host pages, and are unable
to see them due to the fact that it is on their network.

Hope that helps,
-Bob

The above makes no sense as the web pages have NO ADDRESS.

DNS does not support any references to actual web pages, only
servers.

Or hostheaders...

I looks like every one has dodged this one, add a record named "www"
(without the quotes) with the IP of the web site to your internal
sobellrhodes.co.uk forward lookup zone.

Man, my eyes must be shut!
