Intermittent squeal when playing WMA lossless compression files

When playing back WMA files ripped in lossless compression format, I get
intermittent squeals or distortion. This happens when playing back files on
the MediaCenter PC, other PCs in the home, or the Xbox Extender. It happens
at random times, and cannot consistently reproduce. Doesn't look like a
bandwidth or resource issue. Anyone ripping their CDs in this format and
getting the same problem?

Are you using v9? I remember this as an issue at one point during that
release.

Although this also happened to me under V9, it also happens under V10 (and
extenders). Again, only on lossless WMA files.

I browsed the public m.p.windowsmedia.* archives, but couldn't dredge up
anything - it may have been covered on the beta newsgroups, which are
not archived by Google. You may have to submit something to Microsoft
Product Support.

I am in the U.S. Nothing there looks like it is free. Any way to submit a
bug without charge?

If the problem is a bug, there isn't a charge, but you're going to have
to talk to Microsoft about it. The newsgroup is not such a place.
