I have a new install of Windows 2000 Terminal Server SP3, IE 6 SP 1 [tested
with and without 828750]. This issue only effects remote sessions on the
newly installed Terminal Server. It does not occur to a user logged onto the
console. Other Terminal Servers do not experience this issue. All the
Terminal Servers are configured alike, from documentation I made when the
other servers were built.

The issue is intermittent internet browsing. When a user (or admin) tries to
browse a web page most often the page cannot be displayed. Sometimes a page
will open normally.

The exact message is "The page cannot be displayed.
The page you are looking for is currently unavailable. The Web site might be
experiencing technical difficulties, or you may need to adjust your browser
settings."

some of the sites I have tested...
http://www.google.com
http://www.msn.com
http://www.microsoft.com
http://www.hp.com
http://www.3com.com
http://www.cnn.com
from a cmd prompt these sites ip's can be resolved by pinging the name.

Hi,

First, install the Windows 2000 SP4 to the terminal server.

Then, check the following.

1. whether the firewall is installed on the computer. If yes disable it
2. Do you use the proxy in the network?
3. Clean the Internet Explorer cache, history file, cookies

Let's see whether this works.

Thanks for using Microsoft News Group!
