Am using Win XP Home and Outlook 2000 SR1.
Have Norton Antivirus but still get this error whether Nortin is
active or disabled.
I have four email addresses and am on tiscali broadband.
Intermittantly, when checking send and receive, one or more of the
four email accounts will return the following error:
"The tcpp/ip connection was unexpectedly terminated by server - Error
no 0x800ccc0f"

If I do nothing - the fault sometimes goes away.
If I reboot - the fault sometimes goes away.
If I delete the account then re-enter it, the problem usually goes
away but not always.

This fault is intermittant and usually, eventually fixes itself.

I have checked my account settings and they are all as configured on
the tiscali website.

It is a real pain. Anyone any suggestions as to how I can prevent it
reoccuring?

Thanks in advance...

Well, that hex code translates into almost the same thing the error message
does, "Connection dropped." I would suggest trying checking your accounts
one at a time,a nd see fi that makes any difference. I would also suggest
looking for any other programs on your machine which might be using your
network connection at the same time Outlook is. Those errors are pretty
hard to troubleshoot becuase they are almost always derived from a
networking issue.

Also, the version of Outlook you are using (SR-1a) is quite out of date.
Consider visiting http://www.officeupdate.com and applying some of the
available updates.
