Intergrated on board firewire will not work

My intergrated on board firewire port, will not work, it will not recognize
the firewire
device, which is a sbp2, externeal drive, nor will it install the
drivers,where can I get the chapset drivers for firewire.

Should be on the Software CD that came with the Computer.

System type, motherboard if home built. Updated drivers are normally found
on the system manufacturer web site.
