Interactive Logon

Whilst attempting to logon to our Windows 2000 server via
terminal services I received the error: 'The local policy
of this system does not permit you to logon interactively.'

I then went directly to the server and received the same
error when attempting to logon.

I have read various postings with regard to interactive
logon being disabled and how to add users to a policy to
enable interactive logon, BUT if I cannot logon directly
to the server, I am not able to change these things...

So, my question is: How do I logon to a server where
interactive logon is denied?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I AM the Administrator. It IS the Administrator account.
There in lies my problem. If the administator account is
denied logon (out of the blue), how do I logon to my own
server?

Hi Nige

Is this server member of Active Directory

if so, someone has set a group policy that denies you interactive logon rights. Try to find it and change this GPO. ALternative, which is not a good solution, you might create a new OU, move the server and create a GPO which give you interactive logon rights
If not member of AD you might try the local administrator account.

Good luc
