Perhaps it's too late for such a change, but wouldn't it be cool to have
interactive mini-windows? You hover over the taskbar and see a live preview
of the program. Well, what if you could interact with the window just by
right clicking on the mini-window? For example, you are chatting with a
friend on Live Messenger, and you have the chat window minimized in the
taskbar. Well, maybe you have a spreadsheet up and you don't want to have to
restore the window, so you hover over the window in the taskbar and the
thumbnail appears. Next you right click and are able to type in the window
just like you would if it were up on the screen! How cool would that be?
Then you would never have to open a window if you didn't want to. You could
do the same thing with installers. Or better yet, why not have all
installers run off of the side bar. It would show a little thumbnail of the
installer in the sidebar, and then (of course) be interactive. How cool
would that be? That would finally be a feature that everyone could benefit
from. The sidebar would also have a purpose then too. What does everyone
think?
