machine to the server everything shows up expt the interactivbe buttons, they
show up as a box with an x in a box on my site. What the crap is going on?
and how do i fix it ASAP? This site is for a business so i need a reply asap.
Your help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

How are you upload the page, are you publishing the entire site to a server that has the FP
extensions?

Thomas I appreciate your response.

Yes my site has FP extentions i had the company (GoDaddy.com) walk me
through how to set them up. and i have already had to reupload my site to the
server twice. i can't figure it out this problem occured very recently. when
i first uploaded the site to businessbrokersofthecarolinas.com i had no
problems editing the site or any button issues till like today. I know thw
owners have not edited the site or removed the buttons because I have checked
the server for the buttons and they are there. Maybe this will help, go to
www.businessbrokersofthecarolinas.com and look at the home page at the boxes
with the text that should be on a button. but instead i have a box with a
little box that has an x on it with text in the larger box. try the url see
if that can help give you a visual as to the problem.

Thanks,
Josh

All the links to images on the site point to your hard drive. This
indicates that either the images were not imported into the web, or
you did not have a web open when building the page.

Open the FrontPage web on your hard drive using File->Open Site in the
FP menu, and browse to the folder your web files are stored in.
Then correct the links to be relative links.
Then publish the site using File->Publish, and type in
http://www.businessbrokersofthecarolinas.com as the destination
address. (You may have to remove the www.)
FYI - none of the links on the page work - they lead to 404 errors or
blank pages in IE.

The broken links (404 errors) are created due to use of spaces in file names
- all spaces need to be removed from all file/folder names

Looks to me like the site does NOT have extensions.
Some of the button links are to ftp://xxxx

Are you sure the owner's haven't wanked that site by using ftp? <addressed to OP, not you Stefan>

Don't rush ... you've got a lot of work to do. Look at the source to see
that so much is on your hard drive. And yes, get rid of all those spaces in
the file and folder names. Also think about a much more readable font on
your home page.

Now this is odd, i fixed the buttons but now they are gone again and i
haven't even touched frontpage sense they were working, what the hell is
going on. (sorry for the language i am just getting really stressed out.) why
all of a sudden does the site want to crash on me so much and without any
type clue as to why?
Please HELP me i have tried all of you suggestions but we are back to square
one.
Reply ASAP.

Thanks
Josh

I don't think interactive buttons *requires* the FP extensions; - they are
simply javascript rollovers....? I'm using them on a site without FPSE.
Very much simpler to use than the java 'hover buttons' of earlier FP
releases.

<<I know that the owners have not edited the site or removed the buttons ....>
The above quote from your op would scare me.

Anyway, it appears that your web does not have FP extensions installed.
Type in: http://www.businessbrokersofthecarolinas.com/_vti_inf.html should return a html page that says the extensions are installed. Either they are not installed, they are broken, or someone is deleting pages or uninstalling stuff on your web.

Firstly, if anyone else has access...your client for example...to your web, cut them out for now, you should be the only one with access until you figure out whats going on.

Exactly..HOW are you Publishing to the server?

Thank you all for all of your suggestions i have now got the site up and
running the problem stemed from the code, in frontpage it was not saving my
buttons to the folder that contained the site it was saving them to
frontpage's temp file so i had to go into the frontpage temp folder and copy
all of my buttons into the correct folder and then copy them onto the server
then change the path in the code. so thanks for all of your help.

Thanks,
Josh

Did you have a site open (File Menu | Open Site) and not just a page?

You should not "copy" the files - will give you future problems
Open your FP web/site
Open your page w/ the IB on it, double click the IB to open the IB dialog and close it
When you save the Page FP will present the Save embedded files dialog
Select the location to save (change folder and browse to a location in your FP web)
