Interactive Buttons very slow to change

My buttons seem to work fine, but very, very slow to change on mouseover, to
the point it's ridiculous. By the time they change, a person would have
moved on to the referenced new page.

How can I make these work the way they're supposed to; i.e, instantaneously?

I haven't seen this problem addressed here.

My page (still under construction):
http://www.angelfire.com/oh2/kinsmantile/OurPictures.html

I appreciate the help, thanks

They work fine from here.
Two things:

All your buttons open new page in new window, so you end up with multiple
pages opened gets confusing...at least for me it did.

Your image files are too big, it will slow download time. You need to
optimize and resize them with third party imaged program like IrFanview,
then re-Import them into FP and re-insert them into your design and
re-publish.

You're kidding; they work??? Why don't they work for me? Maybe I should try
the page on my wife's computer and see what happens. For me, I hover over
the button for long seconds (15 seconds maybe) before they change.

You're probably right about the multiple pages. I guess I'll re-think that.
Perhaps just put the same buttons on each page so a person can navigate as
they wish.

Thanks for the other advice too. I know the files are not small, but I
wanted to maintain a high quality image. Seems like the more you reduce
their size, the fuzzier they get. I resized them with Microsoft ImageZone
Plus. Will the program you mentioned maintain a high quality image; i.e.,
sharpness and detail?

Hey, you're right, if I'm using Netscape Navigator, they work fine. However
in Internet Explorer, there is a delay on rollover before they change.
Perhaps a browser setting? I dunno...very strange.

Yep they work fine.
Yep you should put navs on every page.

You can easily optimize a 200K image down to 15-20k and not notice a
difference on the web. Use IrFanview, it's easy.
Don't use FP to do ANY image manipulation.

Dunno abt ImageZone, never used it. My two primary image editors are
Photoshop & IrFanview. For graphics creation I use Xara Xtreme and Acrylic
(beta).

Also with jpgs don't keep messing with them, the less you mess the better
the image will appear. jpgs are a lossy format so everytime you save/resave
you are losing a little data.

Yeah, I know about the .jpg's. I always work from my original when I'm
resizing, and if I don't like it, I resize again from the original, always
saving with a new name. My originals are like negatives to me...I archive
them on CD too.

I'm going to try the program you mentioned if it's something I can do
online. I don't know if I can buy another program at this time (but I'd love
to have Photoshop). Many, many years ago, I used to work in photography as a
lab tech for a commercial photographer; but, that's another story!

Thanks again for all your help! Any ideas about the Internet Explorer
Browser causing the delay?
