I couldn't find the bug report page at Microsoft and I don't have much
internet time left so I ask if someone could please pass this on to
Microsoft support.

Whenever I install software for my Creative Audigy card, MS IntelliType Pro
and IntelliPoint versions 5 will stop responding and ask to be restarted.
When shutting down, I am also prompted to end the services manually.

I am running Microsoft Windows XP Pro SP-1. All critical updates have been
applied.

These Audigy programs are running when I start the computer:

REGSVR32.EXE /S CTASIO.DLL
CTDVDDet.EXE
CTHELPER.EXE
CTEaxSpl.EXE" /run
CTSysVol.exe
RcMan.exe
SBDrvDet.exe /r
UpdReg.EXE

I don't consider UpdReg.EXE, CTEaxSpl.EXE, CTSysVol.exe, RcMan.exe or the
Audigy Windows drivers to be the culprits.

This is very interesting -- I also have a Creative Audigy sound card
(version 1). There are other people in here that are having a similar
experience with the Intelli* software not responding. Eventually it times
out with a "Runtime Error" if you wait long enough (5 or so minutes on my
system). If you terminate the type32.exe and point32.exe programs then
everything is fine, except that you don't have the extended functionality of
some of the media keys and the tilt wheel feature.

Could anyone else that has this combo (Intell* v5 and Audigy sound card) and
is having problems please let us know by posting a message in here? Thanks
in advance.

I think I've found a fix for this problem!! :) Look for my post in this
newsgroup titled "*FOUND FIX* IntelliPoint / IntelliType not responding,
Runtime Error, etc." Hope it works for you too. :)
