Intellipoint "quiet mode"

WinXPhome w sp1 and all updates. Intellipoint 4.1:

On every boot I get the properties dialog which requires manual
intervention.
How can I suppress this dialog, or at least have it magically go away after
a short time?

I think the program that runs this is dplaunch.exe
Check Start->All Programs->Startup for any suspicious shortcuts to your keyboard.
Also run msconfig.exe and check for entries in the Startup tab.
point32.exe *should* be there, that's not the problem.
You could also update to Intellipoint 5.0
