Intellipoint 5.0 behavior in OE 6 on XP

I just bumped my (nicely working) v4.12 Intellipoint drivers to v5.0.

I note with great dismay that the "forward" and "back" mapped buttons on my
Intellimouse Explorer and Trackball Explorer will no longer navigate through
message threads in the OE6 newsgroup reader. The navigation continues to
work in IE, and it moves forward and back between browsed web pages as
expected.

I would like to get confirmation that message thread navigation is indeed
broken in OE6 with the v5.0 Intellimouse driver.

This issue proved to be so annoying that I rolled back to v4.12 and thread
navigation is working fine again.

Consider it confirmed. As to why..........who knows - maybe MS figured they
were giving us too much for our money and want to employ this feature in a
more expensive mouse.
