intellimouse explorer

My mouse gets lazy---hard to move the pointer---after
awhile it rejuvinates.
The receiver or sender is not far from the mouse and I
have used the control panel for mouse to trouble shoot.
batteries have been changed to no avail.

re-install the driver and if using XP with a older Intellimouse get the XP
driver.
