I downloaded the latest software from MS version 5.0 I believe. I thought
there used to be an option to have application specific key assignments but
I can't find it. For example, for Windows in general, I would like the side
keys to be cut and paste but for games, I might like them to be use and
reload. Can someone tell me where to find this option?

Thank you

Start -> Control Panel -> Mouse to configure any windows based KB shortcuts.
However, most video games only support the 3 button mouse and it's
configured in the settings on the video game. Additional buttons are ignored
when you play games...

Thanks, I figured it out. I uninstalled the new 5.0 and reinstalled the
4.12 and it is on the assign key in the older version.

Yea, I had to do the same thing. Baffles me why on earth would they
release a newer driver and "downgrade" it's abilities.

I noticed the same thing when I installed the 5.0 drivers. Is this a bug
in the software, or is Microsoft no longer going to support application
specific button assignments? I think this would be a big mistake on
Microsoft's part.

Not that this is very helpful really but I would like to let you know that
if the option is there then I've not yet found it on the latest software.
You might try, if it works, going back to the older drivers/software if it
was more functional for you. You can uninstall it as you would any
application and simply reinstall it again.

it will never be seen due to my filtering.

For whatever reason, MS left it out of the new driver. I did the same
thing and ended up removing v-5 and installing the older v-4x which still
has the option.

I reinstalled the 4.12 version and the missing options are back. I still
can't believe that Microsoft removed per application button support. But,
that is Microsoft for you. Hopefully they will release an updated 5.x
driver which will put the missing functionality back.

Thanks for the help. I did just that and now the missing functionality is
back. I still can't believe that Microsoft removed these options from the
driver.
