Just taken delivery of new computer - Windows XP Home with MS Office 2003 Pro
software. Alas my mouse's 5 buttons will not work using via USB (which I
prefer), have to use PS\2 Port instead. Problem is that when computer is
turned off, mouse is still glowing R E D !

Would prefer to use this devise via USB rather than PS\2 port.

Can't see anything under KB at Microsoft. Can anyone advise a solution ?

Thanks,

How do you run intellimouse software v6,when all microsoft mouse software
is only at v5.5 Try going to microsoft hardware home page, downloads, scroll
to youre hardware, and install the correct version.....

Your motherboard is providing power to your ps/2 port.

You'll need to turn that off in your bios (look for Wake on PS/2 mouse port
or something to that effect).
You may also have to manipulate jumpers to completely cut off electricity
flow to your ps/2 port. That information, if it is available, should be in
your motherboard's manual.
