Hello,

I updated the latest software for my mouse (5.0) and for
some reason it doesn't give me the same functionality as
the older software did. Specifically, I cannot specify
separate commands for each button for different programs
installed on my computer now. I used to be able to do
this. It only allows one set of commands rather than
linking the commands to several different programs. Am I
missing something here? I have WinXP.

Hi,

Unforutnately the new version of the software doesn't have those application
specific commands for each button.
This feature will be back soon in the next release.
If you want to use the buttons then you should uninstall the software and
install the older software to regain those functions.

Thanks for your input. I went ahead and reinstalled 4.12
and I got all my saved settings back. This was downright
stupid by Microsoft. Why on earth would they put less
functionality into a newer version and totally mis this
obvious blunder??

They are also misleading the public by indicating that
version 4.12 (even though I was using it for months) is
not compatible with XP.

I don't see it as misleading at all.
Look in the system requirements...

There are reasons that the older functionality didn't make it into this
release of Intellipoint. However, I'm not at liberty to discuss that
publicly. Sorry about that.

It's unfortunate that you can't tell us why the functionality was
removed. It would help us be a little more understanding. Not to mention
help field techs troubleshoot issues.

Let's just say it wasn't removed. It just didn't get added back in time.

Sorry I can't comment further...
