I have a laptop with ALPS touchpad inside and USB Intellimouse Explorer
outside. They work pretty well together. The OS is Windows XP Pro SP2.

If I run "mouseinfo.exe" it shows clearly that buttons on the
Intellimouse are bouncing: one press: DOWN/UP/DOWN/DOWN..
This happens on all five (5) buttons so it is not just a matter of
wear and tear on the left button! I cannot tell if this is a
hardware problem or a driver problem and all drivers are up to date.

I have disabled USB power monitor and lowered the ALPS sampling rate
from 100 to 80. Any thoughts? - RM

I'm not understanding what you mean by "bounce" so just have some general
comments. On one laptop that I used to own, the touchpad had to be disabled
completely when using the mouse. On another portable system, there were
settings in the touchpad software that gave preference over the mouse when
both were being used. You may want to check the ALPS website to see if they
have any tips on using a mouse with their touchpads.
