My pc crashed so I took the opportunity (?) to rebuild it as XP instead of
Win2K. I downloaded the latest intellimouse sw from MS. It works ok but
there seems to no longer be a selection to use the wheel button to pop
windows explorer. I really miss that. Any way to get it to do what I
want???

Are you SURE its the right driver ? It probably would of
popped an icon in your System Tray with config options to
change. If it isnt there, then im very surprised..

I do not get an icon in th tray but the configuration dialog comes up fine
rom control panel. The connected device selection allows me to select
Intellimous Optical. and I can set all the buttons. The only problem is that
Windows Explorer is no longer a choice in the button drop downs?????

It's not the only thing that's gone: you can no longer
assign <shift> and <ctrl> to the side buttons on an
Intellimouse Explorer, which as any 3d CAD user out there
will tell you (SolidWorks, Solid Edge, ProD and E users,
and there are MILLIONS of us), is a complete pain...

Secondly, you can no longer disable autoscroll on
specific applications. Why not? This is another
irritation for CAD.

A polite suggestion to the Product Manager would be to
fix this!

Chris

Ps I can't revert to the earlier V4 driver, as the latest
XP hotfixes have caused nasty hardware lockups, and the
only thing that's fixed it has been to update
Intellipoint...
