I am trying to create an "intelligent map
For example
1) Let's say I wanted to show a map of Europe with all the country boundaries
2) I want to have all the countries with a GDP per capita of $10,000 or greater show up as Red; 5000 to 10000 yellow and <5000 green
Is there anyway to do this (it would be similar to the "conditional formatting" function within Exce

Hi Matt,

you can use a map of Europe (you can find one in the ClipArt Gallery of
Office Online, but be sure to use a vector graphic, e.g. WMF, file format),
ungroup it and manually color the countries accordingly.

If you need maps like this more often, you might want to buy Microsoft
MapPoint, which allows you to color areas programmatically and comes with a
lot of demographic data. You can even access MapPoint from inside PowerPoint
via a COM-Add-In, though I prefer copy&paste special to insert the maps.

Kind regards,
Ute
