Hello,

I am still having a problem with my Intelli-Mouse Optical and Windows Vista
Ultima

I am running windows Vista Ultimate (Final Release) and Intelli-mouse 6.1
software for my mouse. The problem I am having is that the mouse will
various
times do a double click for a single click. I've tried changing the
click speed and no change. The mouse works fine on an XP machine. Any HELP
Please

Thanks
Mark

I think I know what the problem is, although if you're sure it works OK on
XP then I'm on the wrong track.

The Intellimouse Optical (along with many other Microsoft mice) has a known
problem with the microswitches under the buttons. After a fair bit of use
they go noisy and generate double or multiple clicks when you press the
button.

I've had to discard at least two, maybe three, Microsoft mice because of
this.

Really the Intellimouse driver should handle this using 'software debounce',
but it definitely doesn't work well enough.

You'll need to buy another mouse.

Thack

Or, download and install TweakVI (for Vista), which will implement a
de-bounce routine for the mouse.
