I have a neighbor who lives in an apartment above me and he uses my
internet via my wireless router
to surf the web. He has a Gateway computer with built-in Intel pro
Wireless and he was using the Windows
Wireless Zero config utility to configure his connection. . He was
using the Windows utility because he didn't
know the Intel utility was available.I told him he should probably use
the Intel utility instead. Was that good
advice?

Hi
As long as he can connect safely (use your wireless security and configure
his Wireless to match) it does not matter which Wireless utility is used.
What ever works well is good.
Just make sure that only one Wireless management is On. If both are On it
would be "Quirky".

I was just asking because maybe one might be more reliable that the other. I
guess not. I told him to run only one utility at a time. Thanks a bunch.

It's not a matter of reliability, it's more a matter of features. On
my machine, I have to use the Intel utility because at work they use a
form of authentication/encryption that is not supported by the Windows
management program but is supported with the Intel version. But in a
home environment, like Jack said, it doesn't make much difference and
you should just use what works.

HTH,
John
