I have a Lenovo R61 laptop with Intel 4965 AGN #2 card that connects
either wireless or wired & surfs just fine until I click on any kind
of map. It happens at other times as well, but nothing I can isolate
so specifically. I can watch the router as I try to zoom in on a
Goole map, & it completely powers down & restarts. I have another
laptop running XP that works fine. Has anyone heard of this? Any
suggestions?? Thanks.

what router? what firmware? have you tried looking for a firmware
update?

Thanks for the reply, Barb. My router is a Netgear CG814WG from my
internet provider (Cox). I searched for firmware updates on it, but
only found an irrelevant USB driver. I ran the diagnostic from the
link you provided, and everything checked out fine except the PnP
functionality. I can't find a settings option in the router to enable
that feature. Maybe my router just isn't compatible with Vista?? Any
other thoughts? Many thanks.

this is an all in one with coax device, correct? in that case, Cox
has to do all updates. what type of wireless security is it
running? be sure you are using at least WPA.

you'd probably be better off with a stand alone cable modem and your
own router (one that is on the winqual list).
